★★★★★Went with my son and nephew, we had long wanted to show them the mountains. We walked around Medeu, the kids saw a glacier for the first time, they were impressed. Then we went up on the cable car, visited the Ferris wheel — the view is super, the city is like on a palm. We also made it to the zoo, the kids were delighted with the animals. We had lunch at a cafe, prices are normal. The road was a bit bumpy, but tolerable. The guide told everything interestingly, thanks. It turned out to be a good family day.

Ask a questionThere are no serious walks: you are taken by minibus, and you go up to Kok-Tobe by cable car. At Medeu and at the top you stroll at your own pace — around the grounds, to the attractions, to the cafes. Children usually get through such a day easily, and if they get tired, you can always sit down and rest.
At Medeu we stroll around the high-mountain skating rink at 1,691 m and take photos against the mountains. At Kok-Tobe, after the cable car ride up, children have free time: the Ferris wheel, the zoo and the playground, and you can have lunch at a café — from $4. The attractions are optional and paid separately.
Take comfortable shoes and clothing for the weather, because you spend part of the time outdoors at altitude. Sunglasses and sunscreen will come in handy, as well as a camera or smartphone for the panoramas of Almaty. It is also worth taking money for lunch and souvenirs — the cafes and attractions are paid for separately.
Departure from Almaty at 10:00, group meeting in the city centre, and by 15:00 the tour ends in the same place where it began. Half an hour after the start you are already at Medeu, and the ascent to Kok-Tobe takes about six minutes. We will confirm the meeting point for your date in WhatsApp so that it is convenient for you to get there.
The price of $20 per person already includes transfers there and back, a guide, the cable car ascent and descent, entry to Medeu and water on the bus. On site you decide for yourself whether to have lunch in a cafe and whether to go on the Kok-Tobe attractions: the Ferris wheel, the zoo and the children's playground are optional and for an additional fee. Souvenirs and other personal purchases are also up to you.
